About the event

The Frisian SUP Battle is a serious fun event. With a strong focus on youth and inclusivity: every paddler is welcome! The event starts with a festive mini sprint in the harbour of the yacht club: let’s have some Serious Fun!

On Saturday the beach is our home: both sprint and technical races will start from the beach. So get ready to run…

Sunday is the day of the long distance. With a mass start at the Yachtclub we will send you onto open water between Makkum and Kornwerderzand. Under watchfull eye of our safety boats you will feel the true meaning of the word Battle.

Below you will find the entry fees for each race category, including early bird discounts for registrations completed before the deadline.

  • Early bird fees: Fun Sprint €0, Sprint €25, Technical €30, Long Distance €30, All disciplines €80
  • Early bird discount applies until July 1st 2026
  • After July 1st 2026: add €5 per discipline
  • Juniors under 18 receive a 50% discount on all entry fees.

2nd Edition

2025 marked our inaugural edition: a fantastic beginning of a yearly event that has the potential to grow into the largest and most influential SUP race in the Netherlands, attracting international attention and building a strong, sustainable foundation in Friesland. The Frisian SUP Battle is only one weeks before the iconic SUP 11 City Tour, so if you have any plans to combine a great SUP Frisian experience, this is the time to come to Friesland!

Racing info 2026

sprint course – 150 m
technical race course – 450 m (finale 2x)
long distance course – 3 km
(U12 1x – U15 2x – all other 3x)

The race will be guided by ISA rules to promote fair play and safety for all participants. Jorg Bossack will serve as Race Director and oversee the event.

Notice: Wearing a PFD (personal flotation device) such as a Restube, and using a leash are mandatory for all participants in the Long Distance race.
